Lívia discovered community organizing in 2014 when she joined a working group in AURÓRA Civil and Community House (www.auroraonline.hu) aiming to engage and mobilize local inhabitants in a diverse and disadvantaged neighborhood of Budapest. The neighborhood is stigmatized and segregated from other parts of the city. Poverty, unemployment, drug-problems, low level of education and tension between different ethnic groups are the main characteristics of the neighborhood. The group of volunteers has been working for 2 years in the neighborhood initiating dialogues amongst the local inhabitants aiming to work for a positive self-image and to push for better living conditions.

Lívia was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. Since high school she has been involved in social projects aiming to change injustice and inequality in the society. She has a Bachelor Degree in International Relations and currently pursuing a Master Degree in Community and Civil Development at Eötvös Loránd University. During her university education she participated in a number of local and international initiatives mostly with disadvantaged groups. After being a participant she started to organize and facilitate international voluntary camps, youth exchanges and training courses mostly about social inclusion and active citizenship. She also spent a year in Spain working for the municipality of Cartagena with social activities in the framework of Erasmus+ (European Voluntary Service). Her work mostly involved projects with the local Roma community, education and social inclusion. While getting involved in the civic life of Budapest she initiated and run the Kazinczy Living Library project (https://www.facebook.com/kazinczylivinglibrary) and an international research on the far right movement in Hungary. Thanks to these experiences she is confident running both civil and academic projects.

Livia is fluent in English and Spanish and she is practicing rock climbing as a hobby and she also loves to do wild camping in the nature.
